Wisdom teeth are the last to appear (starting to come through in your teens) and sometimes there simply isn’t enough room for them, so they might come through at an awkward angle, pressing against the teeth in front or the bone behind.
If this happens you’ll know (from the pain!) and so our first priority would be to get you in for a scan to see exactly what’s going on. As your wisdom teeth push through, the surrounding gum can become inflamed and sore, and if there isn’t enough room for your tooth, or if it’s causing damage to other teeth, you’re better off removing it.
Before removing the tooth, we will discuss the procedure and check your medical history to ensure it is safe to do go ahead and will provide local anaesthetic.
You will need to take time off because you will need to heal and rest afterwards.
