Invisalign

Invisalign is the world leader in clear aligner technology, which is a way of straightening your teeth by wearing a series of removable devices that are a bit like gumshields but thinner and much less obvious.

These devices, known as aligners, are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic. They’re specially designed for your mouth and they gently shift your teeth into place, with each successive aligner moving your teeth incrementally further. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten, you just pop in a new set of aligners about every two weeks until your treatment is complete.

One of the big advantages of clear aligners is the minimal impact they have on your everyday life. The aligners are removable, so you can continue to eat all the foods you love without worrying about food getting stuck in your braces. You can also brush and floss your teeth as you normally would, and cleaning your aligners is easy, simply brush and rinse them in lukewarm water.

We use clear aligners to correct cases of crooked or protruding teeth as well as to rectify widely gapped or overly crowded mouths, but they don’t suit all orthodontic cases. Having said that, Invisalign is always innovating and now offers solutions for increasingly complex cases with SmartTrack, a new aligner material which offers improved control of tooth movements and greater comfort.

With over four million completed cases worldwide, no other clear aligner system comes close in terms of the number of cases treated and research and development — you can find out more here.

Patient Testimonial

What’s so good about Invisalign?

  • It’s invisible!
  • You can take your aligner out for important events and to eat.
  • You can eat anything and easily keep your teeth, and your aligner, clean.
  • Four million people can’t be wrong, can they?

What to expect

Clear aligners offer the advantage of being more discreet and are easier to maintain. Once you’ve chosen Invisalign we’ll produce a computer model of how your teeth should be moved and make a series of aligners to be changed every two weeks or so. We’ll keep checking your teeth throughout the treatment to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy and that they finish up in a stable position.
