Dentures

Many people experience tooth decay, trauma to their teeth through accident, or gum disease through poor dental hygiene, and some people are genetically predisposed to have weaker teeth and gums.

We’re all living longer and age plays an important role in tooth loss too because gum disease is more prevalent in older people.

Dentures are a popular and cost effective solution to replace missing teeth, whether it’s a full set or partial dentures. They are usually removable although they can now be stabilised or even anchored in place permanently with dental implants — we’ll discuss this with you if it’s a possibility.

If you have been living with missing teeth it’s likely that dentures will bring only relief. They do take a short while to get used to and you’ll probably always be aware of them in your mouth, but they can eventually become quite comfortable. If we can look at a solution to stabilise your dentures with implants, or fix them permanently into place, it’s similar to having natural teeth.
