Cosmetic Fillings

Old fashioned metal fillings used to look unpleasant, and fitting them caused damage to the tooth to boot, but these days we use much more attractive cosmetic fillings.

Using composite resin we craft these beautiful fillings to match the colour of your teeth so they’re all but invisible. They do take a bit longer to do than silver amalgam fillings but we think you’ll agree they’re worth the wait.

Bit by bit cosmetic fillings are bonded to the teeth which means they can be used to repair chips or broken teeth and they are particularly useful on the front teeth. Assuming there’s not too much damage (in which case a crown might be in order) they can also be used on your back teeth.

We’ll thoroughly clean your mouth and might administer pain relief before we begin. Then your tooth is prepared before the composite filling material is placed onto the tooth bit by bit, and then finely reshaped until it looks as close to the original as possible.
